Also, with top brands you love like Dyson, KitchenAid®, Nespresso® and more, it’s hard to resist making Bed Bath & Beyond your first stop when in the McKinney area.Ĭheck out the latest household items, browse and buy: Look to Bed Bath & Beyond as a one-stop-shop for all your household essentials and home goods. One good thing, is that it does have a gym and there seems to be a number of NGO type workers living there which gives the place a bit of life.Whether you’re looking to equip your house with the basics like bedding and cookware or looking to give your space a stylish update with home décor, the Bed Bath & Beyond® store in has everything you want and everything you didn’t know your home needed. Power outages do happen and it takes them a while to figure out that they need to put on the generator. TV has only three channels - and Africa Magic shows all kinds of Nigerian and Ghanaian movies, which can pass away the time. My second room was supposed to be of better quality, and it did have a kitchen and hot water in the bath room. Rooms DO vary in terms of quality and size. Where to start? I tried two different rooms before I decided to leave. And, be prepared to wait a long, long time for something of medicore quality to arrive. As for food, expect to get a taxi to eat - they claim to have food every night - but when the owner forgets/does not buy food, there is no food. Perhaps, the internet may work better in some rooms. Internet does work at other hotels - so I would leave and go elsewhere to use internet - what a hassel. Internet is supposed to work but it is frightfully slow or never working - despite what they say. Cheap NGOs send their staff there because it is a low cost option but the amount of head-ache and negative effect on productivity does not end up maiing it worthwhile. The other people working there are on the rough/rude side - hopefully, Mandre will invest in some training for them - they need it! This place is good for long term stays but if you are there on business short term - dont stay there as you will not be able to get the work done, you need to get done. The manager/owner, Mandre (an American-Liberian) also listens but not sure if he really listens. An exception is Prince at reception, who is helpful. Overall I was not impressed by the quality and service at this hotel, and I am trying to be nice believe me, because I am sure setting up a hotel in post conflict Liberia is no easy business. It is near the Old Road market and it is a bit hidden so may not be easy to find. Given the rough conditions in Monrovia and the great demand for good secure accommodation, we recommend this place highly. The staff are helpful, cheerful and non-obtrusive. Compare this to a windowless hotel room at USD200, there is no contest. We saw many places in Monrovia, ranging from crappy to outrageously expensive and were very happy to finally find this place at USD120 per night. Security is good and the place is quiet and restful. Free use of washing machine and dryer and most importantly for those of us who are here on work, the internet connection works and TV offers CNN for outside news. Tilda Guest House offers one bed-room apartments with a nice functioning kitchen, bathroom and sitting room. For people needing to spread out beyond the confines of an overpriced hotel room. The electricity is available from 5 pm to 9 am on weekdays and 24 hours during weekends but one can easily organise oneself around that if one is here on work and this is normal practice - one can pay more for 24 hour supply which we did not need. Ok so it's not a 5 star hotel, not even 3 star but you get good value for the money you pay in rough Liberian conditions. Contrary to the one other review about this place, my colleague and I were rather charmed by this Liberian-owned guest house.
